The Next Couple of Years
I am sitting here tying flies at my desk while eating ice cream after getting my wisdom teeth removed yesterday, so I thought now would be a good of time as any to talk about the next couple of years. Throughout the past 5 years I have found a love for fly fishing, camping, hiking, climbing, and basically everything else that you can do outside. This passion for adventure and new experiences has led me taking a gap year. My first semester of my year will begin in September and will be spent with the National Outdoor Leadership School, or NOLS, in Patagonia, Chile. Here I will spend 3 months backpacking, mountaineering, rock climbing, and sea kayaking through some of the most rugged and beautiful terrain on earth. After returning home from Chile, I will venture out west to take another semester long NOLS course in the Rocky Mountains. This course will consist of canyoneering, rock climbing, camping, and other fun outdoor stuff. After my two semesters in the field, I look forward to moving out west to find a summer internship and begin school at Montana State University in the fall of 2018. I will not have access to the internet while in Chile, but I will write about my experience when I return home. Be on the lookout as well for some new flies and announcements on the site. Tight lines!
